Palmer, Alaska Wedding in the Church of 1,000 Trees

It is always an honor to photograph a couple’s wedding day, but this first wedding I’m going to share was extra special since the bride is my cousin!

Rachel and Luke’s Palmer, Alaska wedding was the stuff that mountain-lovers dreams are made of. I mean, does it get any better than a historic log church at the foot of majestic peaks? The fact that it was October and at the peak of autumn was just the icing on the cake! Rachel, a gifted artist, did a phenomenal job of choosing a color scheme to fit the season. From the bouquets that she and her bridesmaids created themselves (talk about skill!), to the jewel-toned bridesmaid dresses, to the whimsical and dainty reception decor, it was an autumn fairytale from beginning to end.

The flawless details though, as much as I loved them, are not what I think of first when I remember this wedding. It is the pure joy and love that permeated the entire day. Never have I seen a groom more thrilled or overcome at seeing his bride than Luke was when Rachel walked down the aisle. Never have I laughed so much during the portraits as with this wedding party! You know how with some couples you just know that they were destined for one another? Luke and Rachel, that is without a doubt the two of you.

Luke and Rachel, I am so grateful to have been your photographer and to have had the privilege of documenting your day. I love you both to Alaska and back!
